"I always wondered whether I was sacrificing some safety by choosing a less expensive helmet like Air Force 3 (compared to the $100+ helmets). But, I got drilled by a car last week and took the brunt of the impact on this helmet. My head actually shattered the windshield but I came away from without a headache (although I'm still fighting the whiplash). Anyway, that was all the evidence I needed that this level of a helmet was more than enough to take care of whatever the roads might hit you with....literally."
Classy and Inexpensive
"The helmet is basically your standard helmet, except specialized slapped their name on it, as well as added some nice features. It looks REALLY cool though. I have a small head, and if It wasn't the helmet would fit better, so ignore the fact that I think its too big. 4.5 out of 5"

Great Helmet for the Money!
"Probably the most stylish helmet available [$] Very functional and great fit. I have the ion yellow model and love it. I believe it is as good as a helmet that cost twice as much. Buy an AF 3 and with the left over money you would spend on a $100 helmet you can buy additional accessories. The only reason I gave it a 4.5 instead of a 5 is that the visor attachment is weak and visor tends to fall off. So if you like to ride with a visor you will want to velcro it on to prevent fall offs."

"As someone that has been in the cycling industry for over 20+ years I recommend wearing a helmet at all times, and also as someone that has had a life changing accident on my bike I would not be sitting here typing this had it not been for my Specialized AF3 helmet.
When I wanted to get a replacement Specialized was great when it came to that, and now I am back on my bike.
I can not stress how important it is to wear your helmet.
Yes, you may be a good (maybe even a great) cyclist, but life (and the occasional motorist) throws you a curve some times and it is important to be prepared.
The AF3 is one of the best helmets I have ever used."
