My Notes:

Pros:
"The first thing you'll notice is how stiff the R700 is. It's much stiffer than the '01 DA (9spd) crank it replaced. Suprisingly, it even shifts better, although I had to lower my front der. to match the 50t chainring. Drivetain weight is lower too, when you factor in BB and cassette (12-25 vs. 12-27) weights. Cons: You may have to shift (fr.der.) more often due to chain rub (against 50t while using 34t)"
Pros:
Cons:
"I gone from a triple FSA to the R700 and have found it to exceed my expectations. Very smooth shifting with my Standard Dura Ace front derailer. The new Hollow Tech bottom bracket is alot stiffer too."
Pros:
"Replaced a FSA compact. Only problem I had was the left side crank arm was not tightened properly and while on the trainer started to back off the BB. Tightened and now all is good. Very stiff and is great for anyone looking into a compact."
Pros:

"This is my second Compact Crank. My first was a FSA aluminum crankset with such a wide Q factor I felt like I was riding a horse.
This one has a normal Q factor and pedals just like the new 10 speed cranksets from Shimano so it feels exactly the same.
I am totally sold on the Compact set up, it really does everything you need. Slightly lower low for climbing, Big enough gear for everything else."
