"I'm 5'11'' 160 and tried on in store. L seemed too tight so went with XL. Perfect for riding between 30 and 50 degrees living on IN/MI border. Have just worn short sleeve or long sleeve jersey as a base layer. First experience with quality jacket. the zippered armpits make a big difference. deep rear pockets & front pocket for gel packs or clif bloks..." Read Full Review

Pros:
"Finally a jacket made for Illinois cold, not the 50s of Calif. I ride in water bottle freezing temps on a regular basis. This jacket with a base and light jersey keeps the cold out. Period."
Pros:
"This is overall a good jacket for very cold and windy temperatures (below 40). With a base layer, it will keep you warm on cold, wet, or very windy rides. It's waterproof and windproof. It's a little too heavy and hot for above 40 degrees. Has armpit vents which helps but it does not fold into a compact pack that fits on your jersey so you better be sure you'll need it for the length of your ride.
I wish the sleeves were detachable and had a large rear vent but then if you need that, you are probable better off with a different jacket."

Cons:
"I *love* this jacket. Body temp doesn't change going into the wind or with the wind. Windproof AND breathes. Tonight (starting temp was 65 and ended at 55) I wore silkweight capilene base and this jacket and was very nice and warm, but NOT overheated. Thank you for gr8 vents. In the Minnesota winter have used capilene base, fleece pullover and this jacket to do 20-some mile rides in single digit temps, as low as zero AND STILL STAYED COMFORTABLE! Obviously my other gear (gloves, bibs, balaclava) have to match, but this jacket keeps me riding comfortably year-round in cold climates. I don't fear the wind anymore and would strongly recommend this jacket to any cyclist. Ha... people ask if I'm cold. I smile and ask them "do you really think I'd be out here if I was?""
Pros:
Dude. You, like, just saved my LIFE!
"Great jacket for cold weather riding - I don't wear this until ride temps are in the low 40's, and it keeps me warm down to -10 with a wool jersey. I just bought one one size up to allow me to put a sweater underneath and avoid the ski jacket when it gets really cold here. Even worked well in a very nasty rain/sleet/ice storm last November that was the arrival of winter in the tundra. I have many friends who wear the same jacket here in the winter, and they are all happy with them - best cold weather biking jacket out so far. I ride almost every day year round, and we need good cold weather gear in MN."
Pros:
"I bought this jacket a couple months ago for cold morning rides and it worked wonderfully. What I didn't realize is how amazingly waterproof and windproof the shell is. I've ridden this jacket in a downpour, while on my cyclocross bike in the mud, and my jersey underneath was warm and dry. I'm writing this review after getting home from a rainy ride in 37 degree (F) weather. Rain beads up and never soaks through. It's the best cycling jacket I've ever used in cold wet weather.
The sleeves and body is long, which is good for cycling and great for tall people like me (I'm 6'4" and normally need tall versions of jackets) but there might be some length issues if you're shorter"
Pros:
"I have had this jacket for about a year now. At first it did not seem breathable but I have figured out the best use of venting and I really like this jacket. Rode today in a light rain with the temps in the high 40's. Stayed dry the entire ride."
Pros:
"Great jacket for a variety of winter conditions. Good base layers are your friend when it is really cold though. The zippered arm pit vents are a nice feature as you warm up. Buy yellow, I don't understand why people wear dark clothing on a bike during winter or anytime for that matter.
I own two yellow Tool jackets. The first one I bought two winters ago. I liked it so much I bought another one during one of the Performance Xmas sales."
Pros:
"This is the best for cold weather, but you do need that non-bulky baselayer. However, when the temperature goes below 20 degrees, that's when I head for the gym. I don't know of any apparel that "works" when the temperature and wind chill are below 20 degrees. Regarding color, [...] I have both the yellow and a blue one."
Pros:
"I'm a Colorado cyclist and this jacket works for Colorado falls/winters. I'd had a hard time finding something that wasn't too bulky but still stopped the wind completely. I can wear a thin, short-sleeve jersey or baselayer under this jacket and be comfortable down to the mid 30s. I can wear a thicker baselayer (like underarmor coldgear) and be comfortable down to the low 20s.
This jacket just works. Good fit, good function."
