"bought this bike earlier this year. After literally replacing EVERY component on the entire bike except the frame, I now have a bike that is impressive. The stock components on this bike are really bottom of the barrel. The brakes that came with it lasted about 100 miles before the calipers broke. Within the first 300 miles I had replaced the seat post (bolt stripped), wheels (bearings went out), crankset (be..." Read Full Review
Okay okay, we get it. You LOOOOOOOOVE this product.
Pros:
"Just bought a 2010 Response Sport, wanted another but none available, XE had an identical component list. Only color choice was grey, bike is blue as in photo, graphics (decals) look like model year 2009. Brakes are Tektro Novella not Hayes. Cassette is 12-32 7spd. not 8spd., Rear Derailleur SRAM X-3. Front Derailleur no I.D. marks. Cranks are SRSuntour XCT V2 not Truvativ. Fork is SRSuntour V2; selector lever messed-up before first ride leaving shock stuck in 'on' mode. This model isn't listed at [@]; I think the XE is built from a bunch of old inventory Diamondback wants to get rid of. If it was grey I would overlook the other issues."

Cons:
"Purchased this bike on black Friday. Already have over 60 miles on it, easy to tune up after first 10-15 miles. It is very stable, solid riding. Handles really well. Not the smoothest ride, but it is a hardtail afterall. The front forks are heavy and squishy suspension, not reccomended for any jumps or boulder trails or rocky/bumpy downhill rides. The squish however, is decent for slow rocky uphill climbs, nice rebound for 'hopping' the front.
Overall VERY solid construction, i havn't owned a DB in 10 years, but am impressed and they now have me as a customer again. Comparing this to my Raleigh Mohave 4.0 and Raleigh M80 it is very similar in quality.
Great bike for beginner's to intermediate off road riders."

Cons:
"Bought this bike to replace a 2010 DB Wildwood Citi Classic with a bike frame size 19". I didn't do my reseach b4 I bought so I got stuck with it. Although it is comfortable to ride.. it just was not the right size for me. I'm 6'4" 290 lbs. and I needed a larger bike. The DB Response XE Mountain Bike is perfect. Love the frames size (22") as it fits me much better. With all the options this bike comes with, you really don't need to add much to it. Get it tuned, get it on the trail or road.. and ride!!! I've only had it less than a week and I can't wait to log more miles on this beast. The rapid fire shifters for quick gear selection and the 6" dics brakes for stop'n power you can't go wrong with this bike."
Pros:
"Just bought the bike two weeks ago. Already changed the seat & hand grips. The shifters i will manage until i find somethin better. DB gave Dicks a really good frame with so so components just keep that in mind. You can replace them as they brake or immediatly after purchase. However this is a great buy for beginners and casual to serious riders as long as u know want u r buyin. If you r going to be doin serious off roading "ie" hoping or jumping ur way down a moutain side on a bike then this bike is not for u. U need to buy a mountain bike for [$] and up. I use it to ride the silver comet bike trail in atlanta (paved mostly) and on hills and dirt roads."

Cons:
"Great bike handles well and for the price you can not beat it.So if your looking for a good bike and don't want to drain your bank account this is a great deal!!!!"
Pros:
"I when very much younger , use to race BMX bikes, I'm not looking to race anymore, but seek the thrill of off-road riding again.
love the feel off-road it has semi rough ride, but hey that's off-roading !"
Pros:
Cons:
"I bought this bike about a month ago and have put about 50 tough miles on it, all on rugged trails. So far I have absolutely no complaints about the bike. The SRAM X-3 components are doing a great job - very fluid shifting. The disc brakes and boots are doing a great job too. They stop me on a dime and require very low maintainance, unlike some V-brakes I've had in the past. I had a flat on the rear tire and realinging the brake after I fixed the flat was no problem.
I didn't want to spend a ton on a super nice bike right off the bat, but still wanted some quality, and overall I am very happy with this bike."
Pros:
"I have had this bike for about 2 months and am extremely impessed. I had a DB Sorrento Sport for several years and it held out very well with much abuse and very little maintenance. After trying several other manufacturers, I decided to give Diamondback another shot. I have taken this bike off road and on some hairy trails. I've also done alot of inner city urban type trails as well. It has held up very well. The frame is virtually indestructable. The forks don't bottom out as I have had happen with other brand name forks (6'1'' and 230 lbs). The lockout feature is very cool. Disk brakes are awesome. The ability to slow down without loss of traction is a great feeling when you are going over 30 down a mountain road. For now, the bike is great, but I intend to upgrade a few of the components over the next few years. I love mountain biking and would recommend this bike for the long term."

The stock components on this bike are really bottom of the barrel. The brakes that came with it lasted about 100 miles before the calipers broke. Within the first 300 miles I had replaced the seat post (bolt stripped), wheels (bearings went out), crankset (bent chainring), and bottom bracket (bearings). At about 400 moles the rear sprockets had broken, so I upgraded to a SRAM 9 speed setup.
If you buy this bike be sure to get the extended service plan. I didn't and wish I had. Or use the frame to build a good bike on."
