"This is my first bike shoe, so take this review with a grain of salt. I will say that I don't think I'll ever go out without some type of bike shoe again. I have some neuropathy in my right foot, which gets worse under pressure, so not having my toes smooshed in a box felt great. With respect to this model, I bought it so I can ride in our cold New England winter months, and it does deliver. Out riding today in 32 deg weather for an hour and while my feet got cold, it wasn't too bad. I kind of like that in a way, so I can contemplate riding in these through the spring and the fall. Love the Boa lacing system, makes getting in and out easy, with uniform pressure around the shoe. Neoprene inner makes sliding my foot in and out easy, and there are two separate nylon straps to pull from the back of the shoe, again making ingress easy. Upper neoprene lining is cushy, keeping the ankle warm without chafing."
Pros:
"These are great shoes. I would have ordered the right size for me which would have been perfect but decided on the next size up to allow for extra thick socks for when it is cold. I love the roomy toe box. Not to many brands have that. They resemble a really cool pair of Nikes and I love the way you can cinch them up. No shoe laces to get in the way and get caught in the sprocket which has happened to me-No fun either. I cannot think of any cons about it. Overall they are a cool pair of shoes. Glad I got them and on sale too."
Pros:
"These are without a doubt the best cycling shoes I have had. They are extremely comfortable and warm. I have only worn them 3 times and a total of 80 miles, but they are so comfortable and warm (the coldest I have ridden with them is 25 F). Wish I would have bought them a long time ago. I was tired of putting those over shoes on to keep my feet warm and dry. Wore them in the rain the other day and my feet stayed dry and warm the entire time."
Pros:
"These things are GREAT! They are simple to put on and super easy to take off. They look cool too. Warm for me down to 20 degrees F with a wool sock only. I put shoe covers over them when temp was below 20 degrees for rides over 1 hour. I was unable to completely close down the top Velcro strap.I like the shoe so much, I bought the road version."
Pros:
Cons:
"I have had these shoes for about a week now and have been able to use them in some pretty cold conditions. The last ride that I took was 8 degrees with a wind chill of negative 14. I could not stay out for long because my face was freezing, but my feet stayed warm. I have wide feet so I ordered them almost 2 U.S. sizes larger. That was a good choice because I can put on a thick wool sock along with a micro fiber sock and still have room to move my toes. These are way better than any bootie that I have used."
Pros:
"i would truely reccomend these shoes to any one , even my mother .lol
fantastic in exstream cold weather , fully water proof , and great in snow"

"waterproof commute? bought these from local shop cuz nashbar didn't have my size. found ONE shop (Jason at FATZ asheville) that would buy them hoping i'd tolerate one size too big (lake makes all sizes, some halves, EXCEPT 49) i was going shimano Msomething but they dont make my size either! so the lakes are a lil too big and dont really need ANY more insulation/extra socks. used twice, once in light rain after 2 days of storms (tons of water on road, no fenders) and once in dry snowfall/dry roads 18degrees 22mph winds! TOASTY WARM, DRY (a little bit of sweat, not damp tho). i use waterproof pants that come down over top closure of shoe, otherwise top closure would NOT be tight enough with the velcro overlap provided. boa takes some getting used to, but probably cuz my pair is too big."
